Privacy Policy
Your mental health data is deeply personal. We built orysn with privacy at the core — not as an afterthought.
What We Collect
When you use orysn, we store the following to make the app work for you:
- Account information — Your email address and account creation date, used for authentication and cloud sync.
- Journal entries — Text you write in the Daily Check-In, stored so you can review past entries and sync across devices.
- Worksheet responses — Data you enter into fillable worksheets (radical acceptance, cognitive distortions, health anxiety thought records, ADHD task plans).
- Crisis mode entries — Text and mood selections, stored so you can track your patterns over time.
- Check-in selections — Energy level choices from the Daily Check-In.
- Preferences — Dark mode setting and favorited tools.
How We Use It
Your data exists for one purpose: your personal experience within the app.
- Save and sync — Your entries, worksheets, and preferences stay available across your devices.
- Display your history — Crisis patterns and journal entries are shown back to you.
- AI responses — In Crisis Mode, your text is sent to the Gemini API for a personalized response. It is not stored by the AI provider beyond the immediate request.
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, analytics profiling, or anything beyond delivering the app to you.
What We Don't Do
- We don't track your location
- We don't access your contacts, photos, or camera
- We don't collect device identifiers for advertising
- We don't use cookies or web tracking
- We don't sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers
- We don't display ads — ever
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. Access requires authentication with your account credentials.
Third-Party Services

Your Rights
You have full control:
- Export — Download all your data anytime from the Account page.
- Delete — Permanently remove your account and all associated data from the Account page. This is irreversible.
- Access — Everything we store is visible to you within the app.
Children's Privacy
orysn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we'll remove it immediately.
Changes
If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll notify you through the app. The effective date above indicates when it was last updated.
